Cars and Coffee
My alarm went off at 5:55am… Normally I snooze but not today, up and at ’em. I need to get a good parking space.

“Cars & Coffee Los Angeles was founded to bring together like-minded automotive, photography, and design enthusiasts. The events are very chill and welcoming to all car sorts. Our core group of regulars is composed of area locals who aren’t shy about sharing the neighborhood’s rich history. “

Granted I don’t drive a Mercedes but I do drive a car and they said they are very chill and welcoming to all car sorts, and I wanted to be part of like minded individuals who are into photography, cars and design soOoOOOooo I went!
IDK if there is something in the water here in LA, but it seems as soon as mask-mandates where lifted, everyone is ready to get out and explore urban culture. Like, what have we been missing out on for the last 15 months; Was it like this before Covid? Does anyone even remember pre-Covid?
Coffee Mug in hand, I headed out to my 95′ Toyota Land Cruiser, book bag on my back. Griffith Park is only a 7 minute drive for me so I took the long way up Zoo Dr. Winding through the park, I couldn’t help but smile with anticipation of the cars to come; Would there be any other cruisers there? Oh ya! Right as I was pulling in, parked sideways on a hill was a thing of beauty… I couldn’t believe my eyes… Is that an FJ… No, no… a HZJ 70? NoOooOOoo wait… It’s a 4-door pickup, maybe an HZJ… It really had me confused. Luckily @dualcab_landcruiser was right next to me ready to fill me in with all the deets! This is a 1989 HZJ75 with a custom dual cab and a V8 Chevy diesel swap imported from Australia; Would have been guessing for a while. I got toured around; What a treat! Thanks again and hopefully you’ll see more of her on her soon. The FJ60 game was strong out here too. The Toyotas are begining to represent more and more at these types of events!
After talking with all my neighbors for a while it was time to adventure out! That’s when I ran into a Black Limited Sprinter Trueno AE86, a Merci on BBS, an R8 with hub-centric wheels and Pups! All the Pups!
LOL, Oh ya there where lots of Mercedes too!
